Vit XL-7 springs...

Has anyone tried a set of Dobinsons XL-7 springs in the front of a 2.5l GV?
The reason I ask is they are rated to lift an XL-7 ~ 45mm and am researching how they might go on a GV.
I am after a little more lift than the 30mm offered by the similar "proper" GV one and am aiming for around the 50mm mark.
Any experience with this set up would be appreciated before I consider buying the wrong springs
