Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Been experiencing a terrible creaking noise which has been progressively getting worse by the day.

Through trials and tribulations i've finally found it. Had to jack up the truck, get a mate to push down the accelerator while i lay under it. As scary as it was, i found the problem.

The rear tail-shaft uni-joints are worn, and im assuming the extra load of just putting 32" muddies on it helped it along a little.

Getting it fixed tomorrow. So... for all you out there who have a similar creak when you put torque on the wheels... check there!

glad you found the problem, but fark you are keen hopping under the truck like that

Darwin candidate for sure.

In the future just grab the driveshaft and twist it, and shake it side to side. You will be able to feel the play most of the time, without having to risk your hide.

yeah wasnt my smartest idea... and hell it was scary, the speedo was on 110KM, frame was bouncing on the jacks..... YEAH PRETTY DUMB.

But it was a means to an end. Getting fixed as we speak.

Never suspected the drive-shaft... as it sounded more like the diff or gear box. Just happened i was in the right place to hear it.

You've got my vote.

Get a mate you don't like or your girl friend to do crazy stuff like that.
