4.2td oil filters

ok guys i was doing a search on oil filters and some people run z9 ford filters in there nissans ,are these alright to use and a few people say go and by bulk genuine filters at your nissan dealer how much do you pay for the bulk buy, just looking at the best options for my own serviceing

im running z9 filters and change them every 5000 ks so far so good
the one thing i did notice is the oil seems to stay a bit cleaner for a few more days than the standard filters but i may be imagining things
i was told by some one that you can swap a z9 for a z115 but you cant put a z115 on where a z9 normally goes

Might be the case... but iirc the z115 is a dual pass filter, compared to the single pass z9, therefore better suited to turbo vehicles...
pretty sure plenty of people use genuine filters for a reason... id be checking the ryco book for what filter is recommended for the engine.

different models of TD42 use different filters...
Correct, mine uses 2x G00's... and depending on who you talk to, they "can" all use the 2 of the same instead of 1 of this and 1 of that.
