i think that white shorty has something to do with chapmans auto tuning. as far as i know it's not turbo but is running a hotter 3.0l v6.
if it's the one i'm thinking of it was at cruiser park for the ausy day long weekend.

Actually had nothing to do with chapmans, it has a twin cam 6G72 with a turbonetics turbo and big external gate. Only did one run coz he got there late and took about 2 attempts to go from 3rd to 4th. Should easily do a 13.

That was my sweet Pajero! Finally got it (mostly) finished. Just finished running it in. Only has 14psi at the moment till i get my new wastegate spring to bring it up to 22 or so.
Missed 4th gear on my only run of the night but still ran 14.6@97mph
Can't wait for more!

I think I'm getting old. I looked at the engine bay and first thing that came to my head was, that would be good to do on my NH but where would I fit the second battery for the fridge and the compressor for airing up. haha

Motor isnt stock......... 6G72 twin cam:D
Wiseco forged pistons
ARP rod bolts, head and main studs
Cometic MLS headgaskets
Ported heads
Fully balanced
Series 5 rx7 injectors (i think, not sure on size)
Turbonetics T04 (once again im unsure)
Trust external wastegate
EMS engine management (its what all the cool kids are using these days
)
I think that is all for now.
No it wasnt in 4WD, chirped 3rd gear

Thanks Andy
Injectors are 550cc. It also has a Walbro 500hp fuel pump and a Sard type fuel reg. The engine is 98 model Triton/Challenger. I made all the manifolds and exhaust myself. It was my 1st time so whilst they are functional, they aren't has pretty as they could be haha.
Car has a 2 in lift and runs 31's. Everything else is pretty much stock.

Come on, not all the pipe work was done by urself, give me some credit
Also has a front mount intercooler, Turbosmart BOV and the D1spec catch can
It has more big name parts than u can poke a stick at, its a full race pajero
Got any interior shots?

'98 Charlie? That's ME!! My engine isn't Transverse tho', and, well, we'd prolly be looking at 20sec or more...

AWESOME!
Is that the GTO/3000GT motor? - SO MANY people i talk to say it can't be done, and it's not worth it etc etc..
Do you take it offroad at all?

why wasnt it in 4wd? cant chirp 3rd in 4wd?

probably because after the initial launch advantage of 4wd, the drivetrain losses would slow the car overall for the 400m...
and chirping 3rd isn't a problem - if it broke into uncontrollable wheelspin in 3rd, then you'd have to look at using 4wd

Couldn't have said it better myself
Thanks martyp. I will try it in 4WD just out of curiosity though.

The engine is 98 model Triton/Challenger. I was going to go the GTO motor but the twin turbo would have been too much hassle fitting. Single turbo was much easier, but anything can be done if you really want
I did some mad offroad with andy_m and gotta head out for some more soon. Its awesome up the beach too! 4 rooster tails shooting out looks wild!

Very cool TurboPaj!
98 model eh... no thought of going the 3.5 (SOHC) ?
As you can probably tell i'm looking to do a mod similar to this at some point.. was there a lot of customisation for the turbo (i'd imagine it was all custom) - but did you find any off-the-shelf bits you could use? (and wish to divulge)
Thanks

I thought of the 3.5 but heard they didn't fit so easy. I am happy with the smaller capacity anyway. I usually only mod 2.0ltrs so this is a big engine to me
Unfortunately there is no real 'off the shelf parts' with the exception of internal engine mods, thanks to the 3000GT\Stealth engine! All the rest has to be made. The engine was built by WM Motorsport at Brendale just north of Brisbane. They do sweet performance work there and have done a few top level winch challenge trucks, so i recommend them if you need anything done. There website is
