As the proud new owner of a SE auto disco 98 model, i have a question for all the gure's.
Can the low range be used on tar for a long period of time?
The reason i ask is that theere is a very large steep hill that we have to come down and we normaly have a fully loaded, unbraked trailer and in an auto this is not good on the brakes.

Yes you can. You will notice that your transfer lever has 4 positions (not including neutral). The right hand side has high and low range unlocked and the left hand side has high and low range locked.

So low range on the RHS has an unlocked centre diff. So use that on high grip surfaces and you'll be fine.
