G'day,

I'm going to check out a LWB on the weekend and I'm just wondering what to look out for?

Here is what i know so far

1988 WT LWB 1.3L

I am most likely wrong but didn't LWB's only come out as 1L NT

Anyway question is What should i look out for in the way of mechanicals same as other sierra's?

What should i look for in the way of suspension. I don't know a lot about leaf springs.

How much would pay for this?

cheers,
Sean

Ateco imported some WT LWB's into NSW, so it is possible it is a legitimate WT 1.3. I have seen a few.

LWB's came as 1.0 litre up to 1984, 1.3 NT up to 1987, a very small number of WT LWB's in 1988 and as NT and WT 1.0 Marutis from about 1990 to 1996(?)

Nothing to look for in particular, I would imagine that the springs, shackles and rubbers would all be pretty stuffed by now so I wouldn't look for anything in particular, just budget for replacement.

Other than the tub and chassis, the only unique parts are the rear driveshaft and rear bumper caps, so it is not hard to get one right.

If it is a genuine LWB WT I would expect it to be worth maybe $4k-$6k depending on condition, but others might think it is worth more.

Do you have a picture?

Steve.

I paid $3000 for my stock 85 nt lwb with fibreglass canopy. Since then Ive replaced/upgraded everything but the body panels and dash. It had rust in the rear corners of the tub but no other faults. You will love the lwb it may not be quite as manoverable but the better ride more stable off road and more interior space more than makes up for it.
