Outer Limits 4x4 Board

i have pulled the drive shaft off my t case and i cant get the rest of it off its the one going from the gearbox to the trasfer case
i am trying to change the seal as its leaking oil from t case???
how does the bit that the shaft bolts on to come off

its an 87 sierra

ITs the same as unbolting a pinion flange the big nut tha holds it on has an indent on one side to stop it coming loose. I use a punch to knock it out (you,l understand when you look at it) then hold the flange still I chain it to something then use a big breaker bar on the nut and it should come undone. Or you could always use a rattle gun

There is a large nut on the inside of the flange, but this also has a section folded into a keyway on the shaft.

Pull the whole case out, if you've got the jack shaft out that's the hard on.

rattle gun is the easiest and quickest way.
