First pics of our latest family member!
Man... what is it with Sierras and leaf refuse? I turned on the air vents to see if they worked ok and got showered with half a tree... took me 30 minutes to get it all out

There's been 2 or 3 threads about these things lately, and here's proof, LWB WT Sierra's are in Australia!
By the Way, congrats on your new Zook.

A very slow buildup, nothing too radical like her big brother Brutus (Podge's longy... same colour too!)... she's original so we'd would like to try and keep her as close as possible to that... she needs some TLC. I'm not used to seeing a LWB so low to the ground
When Podge bought her home I fell in love with her and staked my claim
Nah Tiny, she is not going to be hacked and hoisted

The 1.3 W/T was available for the first six months of 1988 along with the other 1.3 W/T variants:
-SWB S/T
-SWB H/T
-SWB H/T (Hi Roof)

I used to sleep in the back of mine, before I bobbed it and put a fuel tank in the back.
I used to leave the tail gate open, and put me feet on a picnic table

The WT Hi roof and WT LWB were only imported by ateco. Suzuki australia didn't import them. So thare are none native to Vic or Qld.
I had a magazine road test (overlander) of a SWB hi roof in sydney when the WT came out.
I have seen one WT LWB in wangaratta for sale, and heard of another in the same area. My guess is these came to vic via an albury suzuki dealer supplied via ateco.

The only importers of Suzuki motor vehicles in 1988 were state distributors. In Victoria it was MW Motors. Whether or not they imported the LWB W/T I'm not sure but Suzuki Australia didn't import any motor vehicles in that era. Suzuki Australia was only responsible for motorcycle and marine, being based in Grand Ave Camelia, Sydney.
The LWB W/T was about for the first 6 months of release and the SWB H/T Hi-Roof was about for the first 8 months.

Thanks for the clarification Podge.
They were certainly not available in Vic at all.

There is a WT LWB Maruti getting around brissy somewhere. I was going to buy it, but it moved from its spot that it had been sitting at for quite some time.

Maruti's are farily common in WT format but except for the tub and rails that are pretty much garbage.
would make a good project if you had a "proper" WT SWB sierra as a donor car.

Well, it's good to see confirmation at last that the W/T LWB Sierra did exist!
From side-on, Griselda looks just like my '85 LWB 1.3, except that its wheel arch flares were added on by me (bought from Suzukishop Wreckers here in WA), and of course mine is still a N/T. At least that means none of those silly rust-trap plastic covers on the sills.
Squik, you have a rare buy, ignore these barbarians with their angle grinders and all this talk of monster wheels and stratospheric lifts! Mine is still stock after 20 years of ownership and is the best camping vehicle possible (for two people, that is). One drawback - have you discovered yet what a pain in the bum it is to erect or remove a LWB canopy?!
And as someone has said before about your clever animations, Christover, you must have too much idle time on your hands. Now stop it, before you give Squik bad ideas!
Cheers - Longbaser.
