what do people do in terms of maintenance of their snatch strap? What do you wash it with? how do you wash it? do you keep it rolled up when not in use or hung up over a rafter or something?
ive heard that they are good for 2 snatches then it is recomended they be replaced... is this true? does anybody actually do this?
anything else about them?

washing powder isn't to harsh on them? doesn't break them down or nething? ive been using the fan spray on my pressure cleaner, its not that rough on it, and just hanging it up to dry...

Lux flakes... same thing they recommend for GoreTex, down sleeping bags, tents etc etc... just a really mild soap, your snatch will smell really nice then! Cost you less than $5 for a big box from coles, safers, etc etc
Washing machine would be fine, and like any rope/cable leave it to hang in the shade and then if u have the space leave it like that, and only coil it up for when u wanna go away. I dont see why leaving it coiled in your car would do any harm aslong as its clean and dry.

The last time I used my winch was to drag a hypolux across a rock.*
*The above statement is not entirely accurate.

Well first, It reclines gracefully in a warm bathtub, with Musk bathbomb, for about 3/4 hr. Then, it is carefully dried, combed, trimmed to neaten up the edges. The a little shaving cream, and a new razor .............

why do brides wear white? because the dishwasher should match the fridge and washing machine.
I keep all my straps in a sack, daisy-chained* if they get dirty they occasionally get hosed out but there's nothing to be gained by washing them, they're only going to get dirty again.
snach straps do lose their stretch over time so every dozen or so snatches they get gelegated to being 'spare' straps, they're still good as sntach extensions, towing straps, safety straps for checking rollover recoveries etc.
*you know, like finger knitting. QLDGAL can explain it I'm sure.

If you wash your snatch in the trouble and strifes washing machine .. it is a good idea to put through an load of rags or something after ... as not all the dirt gets washed out in the first go .. It is also a bad idea to call the trouble and strifes new bed linen "rags" and use them ... they end up a loverly shade of whaterver color mud was the heavisest on the strap ..
And you end up walking to the frige and seeing if there is enough beer to make the verandah comfortable to sleep on tonight ...
