I've found one that's 1 owner full logbooks, bodywork and interier are in good condition, it's just had a reco'd motor 15'000km ago but the car has 280 000 kms on it, seem like majorly hiway km's the car is exactily what i want, black exceed model black leather and wood grain, sidesteps, factory sunroof and for $20 000 i've been having a lot of trouble finding this combination and i wanna buy it but having that many km's on it makes me wanna walk away from it i'm so torn i don't know what to do!!!
Also it's south of sydney and i'm on the gold coast so i've only going off photo's and phone calls, i'm thinking of getting the NSW equivillent of an RACQ vehicle inspection and the owner was more than happy to take the car there and have it done, if all goes well i'ed fly down and drive it home but i don't wanna fly down there and then be dissapointed and then have to fly home .......
unsure on what to do

Call the NRMA (NSW RACQ) and ask them exactly that.
They may have an inspector who is well versed with 4WD's and if your lucky pajero's in particular. Can only ask.....

Shit, wasn't that kept quiet, they would of layed off a heap of jobs by doing that. Found the press release..........
NRMA Motoring & Services is withdrawing from the vehicle inspection market after a steady eight-year decline in member demand, revenue and profit.
NRMA road service is not affected by the closure.
The decision follows Vehicle Inspection's operating loss of more than $1 million last financial year and deteriorating market conditions. The business is forecast to lose a greater amount in 2006-07.
Currently less than one per cent of NRMA Members use Vehicle Inspections each year.
Market conditions, including sustained growth in new vehicle sales and the expansion of extended warranties, indicate that demand is likely to drop even further in future as fewer motorists require vehicle inspections.
NRMA intends to redeploy the workforce by offering suitable alternative employment opportunities for all staff affected by the closure into other areas of the business, including the patrol workforce. A full range of job-seeking and counselling services will also be available to support those affected.
NRMA Vehicle Inspections will continue to be available to Members until the end of April 2007. The NRMA is now examining referral services which Members may use after April.
Here is a list of vehicle inspectors in NSW

SOO Glad i got a vehicle inspection, The report came back with the following
*4 bald tires
*Rear Main oil seal leaking
*Rocker Cover Gaskets leaking
*powersteering rack leaking and excessive play
*auto pan gasket leaking
*Seal between auto and transfercase leaking
*riddled with paint chips over the bonnet, front bumper and guards
*Got Jammed in low range during testing and took 20minutes to come out
*light driveline wine
*bog in the c pillars and dog legs on both sides and stress ripples in the roof consistent with it having a major rear end crash
*the RHF door, bonnet and RH guard are the only panels that haven't been removed or tampered with all the other doors have been removed from the vehicle at some time
*squeaks and rattles thru the car (which would drive me nutts)
well i think that mobile inspection was well worth $250 !!!! it just saved me 2 airfares to sydney and from buying a lemon!!!!
