What size exhaust

Post by MRGQ »

Can anybody tell me what size exhaust system for a 3 litre patrol with a Dhtronic chip would work the best, a 2 1/2 inch or a 3 inch system.
Also would anyone know where to buy a good system from, thanx

3" for sure!

go to your local exhaust shops and get some qoutes. mandrel exhaust or stainless. either way 3" is the best results and they sound great!

ohh and change ya dump pipe. get one with less restriction. sorta defeats da purpose of doing the 3"

Does the bigger size exhaust help reduce EGT's?

Yes a bigger free flowing exhaust sytem helps, 3" is overkill, a 2 1/2 or 2 3/4 will do. To get the best out of it also fit a high flow cat as well.

Hope this helps.

Beaudesert Exhaust advertise in A4WDM and I have read plenty of good reports.

for forced induction id say 3" is the usual i think?
i have a cordia turbo (1.8 4 banger) with a 3"
and most people i have been out wheeling with have 3" for their turbo diesels.
im probably going to go a 2.75" for my trol as im eventually going to go forced induction
