ARB bar - Winch or no winch

I have a 1993 Rangie with an ARB front bar. I presume it is a non winch bar as there are no holes for fitting a winch.
However, I'm thinking of buying a winch and am wondering if it is possible to fit a winch to this bar.

If so what are the tricks?

I made my ARB non winch bar to a winch bar on my 80 series cruiser. I looked at a winch bar and found no difference in mountings or extra bracing in the bar, just 2 extra vertical strips of steel where the winch bolts to. So I got a 3mm bit of plate steel made to fit inside the entire length of the bullbar between the chassis rails. Bolted it to the bull bar at either end, then mounted the winch through the bull bar and extra plate of steel.

I have used it heaps, doing hard winching and the bar hasn't moved, bent or anything. So I say no probs. Go for it. If you have any doughts, check out an ARB winch bar in a carpark or somewhere compared to yours and you will see there is stuff all difference.

Yeah my brother and i made a coily zook non-winch ARB bar into a winch compatible bar... Pretty easy.

With a rangie, you just make a cradle that bolts between the chassis rails and only the fairlead bolts to the bar, very simple to create, but only works with a lowmount
