Without giving too much away, I need some diffs to suit my new project.

Looking at bundera but would prefer something with disk brake rear. And fresher as they need to support in excess of 300hp in a 1400kg truck. Also i do not want to go too wide. will be running max 35's on max 8" wide rims. pref toyota 6 stud pattern.

may consider IFS if i can get a reasonably strong one,

Do any prado's have live axle fronts?

Approximate $ for prado's

width disc to disc?

Ideas as i have never looked at smaller trucks eg navara, pathfinder, pajero etc etc

I do not want gq/ gu etc too heavy.

Hilux / longfields etc look like the go so far.

cheers all bru

um as for the smaller trucks the pajeros 3.5v6 models r the strongest allmost nisan strength. the mitsu guys tell me. the nj through to nl
the ifs front is fairly robust too. stronger than prado.
and they got coils.

Do you consider 80series stuff too heavy?

If so could go the rangie axles with bundera centres and longs option like many (rover) people have. Bit more $$ and a couple of custom shafts, but light and with discs at each corner.

Front: high pinnion D30 with a super 30 air locker) out of a XJ cherokee with upgraded shafts should give you enough strength on a low wt. vehicle and you'll have great pumpkin clearance. you're 35's will be like GQ's on 38s

Rear, D44 with upgraded axles.

again good diff clearance and enough strength for a light wt. vehicle

Plenty of ratos around for these diffs too.

60 series with longfields
little bit wider then hilux and the centre is heeps stronger.
or if they are to wide go 40 series with longs.

27 spline chromo longs will only set you back $650 for a pair or 30 spliners are a tad over 1g.
