How hard is it to remove the actuator from the transfer case on a LT95, I just want to see if the oring has gone on the shaft, I had a look at the manual and it really didn't explain if it would be a major problem or not

Hi,

Can be done in situ. Some are held by hex heads, some with big dome head Phillips screws. The harder part is making sure the selector fork is correctly engaged in the dog clutch when you put the actuator back on. Let us know how you go.

The dog clutch slides freely fore and aft on the shaft from memory. There is a detent ball and spring housed in the actuator body that you have to be careful not to lose when you detach the actuator from the TCase. (The side of the TCase hold these in). The main thing is to make sure the fork from the actuator is actually engaged in the groove in the dog clutch when you put the actuator back on. That's the tricky bit. Doesn't really matter if you move anything, just make sure the fork goes back in the groove. You should be able to see this groove when you take the actuator off.
