I have a friend who has arthritis and is having trouble driving his emaculate 75 series,he wants to keep the car and wants to know if there is any one who has done a auto conversion on one and if so what they used,is it a big hastle.

You could use 80 series auto, they are tuff but wiring is a hassle- I got one with t/case in the shed if you are interested.

60's auto will go in if it's pre 1989 post '89 use 80's auto.
The cross member would have to be moved the front tail shaft lengthened and the rear tail shaft shortened some floor mods for shifter fitment brackets for kick-down cable an oil cooler mounted (an auto radiator could be used but an oil cooler is 100% better) the inhibitor switch needs to be wired in and it is easier to use a vacuum shift transfer case as is in all L/C auto's.Not a cheap conversion but doable.

What year model is the 75? I have an A440F auto with all the bits to bolt to a 2H. It will go straight in apart from the vacuum diaphram on the transfer which will hit the R/H chassis rail in a 75. You can rip it off and convert it back to manual transfer without much trouble though.

The mid wheel base BJ 7#'s with 13BT engines that run A440F style auto's have vacuum transfers and there are are no chassis clearence problems with the vac' diaphram housings,if the vac transfer is'nt used the transfer stick will be back further and the floor will need to be modified for it to come through.

depends on motor and year model, plenty of 73/4's have autos, read a writeup on a 2h auto from a 60 in a 75 years ago...so it is possible, best to get an auto from a 70 and get the front shaft aswell as crossmember and lines and t bar etc etc pedal, wiring kickdown mechanism...you know...all those bits that are soooo expensiveto get otherwise
