Squeaking clutch?

I seem to recall other people having this issue but searching didn't turn up much?

When I push the clutch pedal in I get a very loud (and annoying ) squeaking noise. It sounds like it's coming from the clutch mechanism under the vehicle. It's definitely not from the pedal or anything inside.

It has been happening since I had my clutch replaced and gearbox rebuilt. Has anyone got any ideas on what to attack before I go berserk with the silicone spray on the cable and clutch arm?

I have a similar noise. It has been like that for 2 years so far. I think it is the push out bearing.

So if you have the noise, and the clutch seems really hard to push in sometimes, what might that be?

Seems like a bit of a mystery noise then?!

I sprayed a bit of silicone spray around the arm and lubricated the cable to arm bit. That quietened it for a very short period.

I'm thinking about spraying onto the section where the clutch arm enters the bellhousing. From the pics in another thread that shouldn't cause a problem with contaminating the clutch friction material, I'll just let it run down the arm into the bellhousing. The problem is getting access into that area. :bad-words:
