From what I understand:

The 6L LQ9 cast iron 6 bolt block is rated to 345 Hp at 5200 Rpm, 380Ib of torque at 4000 Rpm with max Rpm of 5600. GM Part No:191562262.

The 6.0L LS2 cast aluminium 6 bolt block is rated to 400 Hp at 6000 Rpm, and 400 Ib torque at 4400 Rpm with max Rpm of 6000. Gm Part No:19156261.

The 6.0L L98 cast aluminum 6 bolt block is rated to 440 Hp at 6200 Rpm, and 404Ib of torque at 5000 Rpm with max Rpm of 6000. Gm Part No:17802134.

You may also want to log onto the GM Performance website: http://www.gmperformanceparts.com/home.jsp and type in the part numbers I gave you which will assist you with your querie.

The local Holden dealer here is selling new 6 Lt crate motors for $6600 excluding the starter, computer, loom and alt.
Is that good

Crate engines

That price sounds good, however you need to allow for all of the accessories to go onto the engine, you'll soon be up for at least an extra several thousand $$$$ if you incorporate the original ecu, wiring harness etc. I have installed a new Gen IV 550 Hp LS7 into my GU Patrol and I know how much F***king aroung there is.

You can quite easily source all the components you need, recommended to use new stuff, however you'll need to combine a decent auto transmission with your chosen V8. There's another 3 to 5,000 $$$$ already, and not to mention engine mounts and engineering. OOHHH its reminding me of my finished project (thank god its over)!!

Good luck with your project.
