hey guys, im looking at doing a 2 inch spring lift on my 93 sierra and was wondering what has to be done for rear up front springs, yes i have looked in the bible and i have searched.

if i used standard rear springs up front and 2 inch lifted in the back with extended shackles all round would this give me an equal lift front and rear? do u HAVE to do a chassi extension or can you get away with re-drilling the mounting points back 20mm and use extended shackles? eventually i want to get climax shackles and was wondering if they would effect anything? any info would be great guys.

do a search on climax shackles most people will say they arent worth it and tend to be a bit dodgey mate.

What you are proposing might give you equal lift front to rear. It would be close.

I have never done one without an extension but I think with 2" bumpstop spacers you MIGHT get away with it. Again, it will be close. Clearance between the shock and the bumpstop/spacer will be tight and shackle angle might be marginal.

Climax shackles effect everything. If you like posing on ramps they are really grouse. :rainbowafro:

In my opinion, they do not actually improve the cars behaviour or capability and are far from a bolt on- they require longer shock mounts and shocks, brake lines, and potentially will lead to driveshaft length and uni joint issues.

By the time you have built the car to run them it would have been easier to build the car with longer springs and actually get proper travel not just a wheel that can flop down all over the place.

Some people have run them and found them ok, many have not.
