Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hullo from a UK GQ newbie.

I've just picked up a TD42 LWB high-roof, which, amongst plenty of other faults, has got pretty rusty front & rear guards.

Whilst I could cut the rot out and let new steel in, I was wondering if I bought front guards from a MQ/MK, could I cut out just the very arches themselves and let those into my GQ, or are they fundamentally different to my flared arches?
I can't seem to get GQ guards in the UK, hence the question.

the wheels sit towards the front more on the mq/mk guards and also the gq guards have the flair that lines up the grill that sits out further then the gq ones.. so no they wouldnt fit.. u would need the gq ones..

the wheel arch shape is different mq/mk is flatter then gq in the top

Looks like it's time to break out the air saw and the mig...

I bolted coil GQ guards to my MQ ute, I don't see why the guards wouldn't fit.
Yes the MQ/MK guards don't have the flair but a good rubber flexi flair will sort that out. I also still used the MQ bonnet and it all lined up fine.
If what your asking is are the wheel arch's in the same spot, the answer for GQ coil is yes.
The leaf ones are about an 1-2" out of place.

All I actually need from the MQ/MK guards is the 'arch' - the area that the GQ flare would bolt to, and perhaps 3" around it; if I cut that area out of the MQ/MK guard, and cut a corresponding area out of my GQ guards, could I weld it in, and then refit the GQ flares?...

Anything is possible with a welder and grinder, it sounds like abit of work but it is possible, provided you cut "higher" then the bulge on the GQ panel so that the flat MQ/MK panel wasn't warped when you weld it on
