After doin a deep water crossing and drivin home. Left my car overnight. Morning came, went to start her.. a totally dead battery
Thought.. no problem... went and got my camp trailer battery and hooked her up. Then I heard a loud fast clicking sound coming from the glow plug relay.... removed the cover and took the relay out...
Is it rooted when it sounds like that? Ive been told 55 dollars for replacement from 4x4 wreckers (nissan 2.8 turbo diesel)
Any ides?????

Yup.
I hit mine with a hammer and it started working again. But yeah its the relay. WD40 perhaps, can you open them up and clean em out? I aint sure, as I said, I just hit mine with a hammer as I was mad.
Hope that helps.

Mine does that if it is wet, WD40 fixes the problem, or when it dries out, its fine as well...

Thanks everyone who gave me their thoughts. I thought i'd give you an update on what happened.
loud clicking sound had me worried about the glow plug relay failure. ... did some research and found that the power feed goes from battery to alternator to glow plug wiring. Now I made the hypothesis that if the battery was rooted and was givin low power feed which the alternator refused to allow the current to feed the plugs thus sendin the feed back to the relay which gave a repetitive click.
Takin the battery back to the shop where i bought it from (was only 3 weeks old - a Super Charge maintennance free 720cca) and it had a 30 month warranty only to find that it had a dead cell.
Problem solved. Thanks to all that helped.

So the hammer thing I did really wasn't the best option?
