Clutches

Post by MissDrew »

Finally after about 70,000kms Mine has started slipping and smelling.

Only does it if I`m giving it a hard time in high range but is ok in low range for now. So it want be getting changed untill after the lux gets straightened and re painted. Plus I am only going to be doing 2 local day trips in it before I pull it apart.

Is there anything else on the market now for turboed luxs? Or is the HD daken or what ever it is still the best one?

 the safari tuff and 'xtreme' heavy duty retail for over $400! best brices I have been able to get are still over the $200 mark for each. whatever you pay they are very nice clutches though.

stay away from rpm and whatever repco sells (PBR?), they arre overpriced and trashy.

I get them from Automotive Hardparts, try http://www.daikinclutch.com.au/ they can probably tell wou who their distributors are.

unless you have lockers, 33+ tyres, and something a fair bit meatier than a stock 22R, a stock spec clutch will do you.

yes - the HD is the way to go

i had one in my 4 runner, i smoked it pretty bad (crawler clutching) on numerous occasions, 60,000km later still going strong
