V8 injector firing

Post by chimpboy »

Quick question, do the injectors on a 91 Disco V8 fire all at once, or do they fire in banks, or do they fire on groups, or do they fire sequentially?

I'm trying to tidy up the wiring and want to know if injectors and the wires to them need to stay matched.

Cheers,

Jason

I am quite sure they fire all 4 injectors per side at a time
thats why you get shit economy with a standard ecu and if you was to fit an aftermarket ecu your ecomony and power will improve as you can control each injector.

if you have broadband you can download a manual from here.

Awesome, thank you. That's a great link.

I will go for an aftermarket ECU one day, but not yet...

Thanks. That makes it a bit easier :)

So even though the banks are run separately, they fire at the same time? Peculiar!

Not really. It has been shown that sequential injection does very little to power or economy.

Economy is bad because it is set rich.
