My car now has plugs!

After the weekend and getting some water in the car and having to stuff around trying to find the bungs and stuff i have now put a plug in the drivers and passengers foot well!

The plug is a plug that you press down to pop it up(so water can get out!) then press it to put it down again!

All i had to do was file the bung holes out a bit and they went straight in! The indents in the floor where exactly the same size!

Just thought for the people who drive mud and stuff would want to know as it took 15 minutes tops!

WILL POST PICS TONIGHT!

I got them from bunnings!

I have the pictures on my phone but i don't no how to get them on to the computer!

Will have them up soon though!

They are stainless and are flush all the others had like a handle so you could pull them up!

The only down side i can see is if someone acidently stands on it and opens it up! :?

Interesting Idea! My father hasn't been able to find a rubber plug that fits the floor hole (he lost his, surprise); problem solved.

Are they just those sink plugs from bunnings? Is there much protrusion underneath? Probably not strictly legal, but not as illegal as most other mods done on this forum.

To get around any mud problem, could you make them removable with a threaded washer type thing? Then you could remove them in 'severe cicumstances' for cleaning.

There a steel thread so the bit that protrudes can ge cut angle grinded off!

As for the legel side can't see why it would be illegal! :?

Yeah just sink holes!

I will just leave them how they are and see how they go!

Had them on for a while now- $10 at bunnings last time I checked. They come in plain white boxes- some bunnings stores don't have the cheap ones, so you may have to hunt around. I bought mine at Forest Hill bunnings in Melbourne if that helps... Just grind the excess length off once you see how much they hang down. They don't clog too much. Fitted only one each side in case they did jam up- left one rubber bung in each side for that situation. As mentioned, Liam has them in his BBM zook (4wd monthly shoot) Happy filing/grinding! :D

one quick question, if you put ur foot on the plugs while driving, does it lift up? allowing water to come in??

Checked if they still did the cheapies yesterday, price has gone up a lil' to $16.00 each. Still reasonable for what they are and still in the plain white boxes.
Floor 'bling' comes to mind!
Damo would love these... King of bling! hehe :D
