Mark at Suziworks does 2L turbo deisel conversions. Mud4b on here.

Try this. raqmup has cut and pasted the old link, before the server change.

Check the bible too, my newer post not the older one, as its links are before the server change and some links hav ebeen added too.

Useful link for factory diesels, but not really applicable to a conversion IMHO
A number of people have had a go at diesel conversions, but for issues related to gearing, weight, usable powerband, and the type of motors avialable, they have never been all that successful.
I agree that the late "high speed" diesels like the PSA stuff would be great, but the cost and complexity of fitting one would be prohibative, let alone the availability of the motor.
With the older tech diesels we have affordably available here, the combination of low HP and low revs along with increased weight over the front axle makes a sierra a very different sort of car to drive- it has to be driven more like a bigger heavier car, which is good for crawling in high traction surfaces but bad for applications where wheelspeed is your friend.
Also, sierras with stock gearing rev too high on the highway to make a diesel usable with sensible gearing offroad.
Just my 2C.
The efi 1.6 vitara motor is the best affordable swap available in my opinion.
