LATE 75 series front diff housings?????

Got one I can drop in the front of my hilux complete with the IFS hub spacer and hubs. Its the type from when they changed to running the high pinion centre like the 80 series.

What I'm wanting to know is do they run the same cv as hilux or 80? Or is it one that is the same length as hilux cv but the same ball size as 80? If this is the case my longfields should go straight in and the pivot point should still be the same.

Main thing I want to know is, Is the diff housing stronger then hilux and less likely to bend? I'm sick of bending hilux front housing into smilely faces  Also will my hi steer bolt up to it?

After xmas I plan on getting 80 series front and dropping in complete with coils and all 80 series controll arms but for now the 75 series will do as its not costing me anything.

should be stronger housing, c/v is same od as lux/60/75. high pinion up front would be nice but do u have the ratios?

The diff you describe is the post 1990 75 up to the release of the 78/79 series. The c/v's have a small extra rib around the outside edge of the bell but the main dimentions are the same as the Hilux, 60 and early 75 C/V's. ( no bigger ) not sure on axle lenght but im thinking they will be different to the Hilux. Im thinking the short side ( R/H) will be longer and the long side ( L/H) will be shorter. Housing may be a bit stronger as the 75 is heavier ????????? If your bending housings maybe you need better suspension Guts. The 80 c/v's will not fit and if you want to do 80 c/v's that you need a 78/79 housing with 80 hubs and brakes and works out the same/similar WMF-WMF as an IFS hilux rear.

Wally as I have allready posted I'm going to a complete 80 series front end setup after xmas, this includes coils. Untill then I just don't want to spend any money on it. I run longfields at the moment and they are stronger then standard 80 cv's.

BTW my suspension is great for slow twisty work but not much chop when it comes to the faster stuff, I'm the first to point that out and am slowly changing the hilux to suit faster stuff as I'll have the buggy for the slow stuff
