coil spring lengths

i'm trying to work out how the geometry on a coil sprung vehicle works regarding the spring lengths
can anyone tell me for a given unsprung length of a coil how much do they normally compress with the weight of a vehicle on level ground, how far do they normally compress when fully articulated and how far do they normally extend when stretched due to droop.
I am trying to work out how much room to allow when building my coil hats etc for the coil overriders on my leaf sprung truck. I am going to use 80 series bumpstops to allow the springs to drop out a little on droop and try to set it up that they support the weight of the vehicle on level ground but have enough room to compress on upwards flex.
