Hilux engine swap

Post by Da Krusha »

G'day guys
Mate cooked a '89 2.4 diesel hilux motor. Bought a rolled one and we're gonna rip the motor out of it to put in his. Any thing we should know before we start.
We're not changing anything. We're putting a 2.4 back in it.
Are we in for any suprises?
Ta.
P.S. PM me if you want any parts from an '89 diesel hilux

Could be say 3/89 which is just prior LN series i think. Quick way to tell look at the ID tag on firewall or engine number just in behind thermostat housing above injector pump does it start with 2L****** or 3L******
2L is 2.4 3L is 2.8
plenty of parts on the bench

Well there you go .. I thought all 89s were 3l's ..

Either way the 2l or 3l will go in the hole without an issue.
