Building up new obc truck. I still have my 37's but feel they will throw the truck around too much at high speed. was thinking something in the 33" or so category. Running bundera diffs, guards will be cut to suit and wheelbase changed.
As I am new to zooks, what is considered the preferred size. There rock stages etc too in obc so I might even need to go 35". Just worried of adding weight and breaking axles etc. The motor I have is 260hp stock! so momentum will be the key.
cheers all bru

Maybe something narrow(ish) around 34-35" 34 10.5 swamper LTB's spring to mind.
I agree, I think 37's would get hard to work with at speed in a lighter car.
Steve.

i'm building with the intention that it will be 90% trophy truck and 10% jimny.
full glass front, full tube rear no sheet, triple bypass shocks on all corners, coil-overs all corners also.
no mild steel will be used what so ever all 4130. weight will be the number one aim. front mid mounted engine currently standing at 260hp as is.
Fully integrated roll cage / chassis etc.
nothing not needed when racing will be there except mp3 lol.
I'm so excited about this project its all happening at 110% speed!
bought jimny friday night, drove to briz sat morning to get front cut, chopped it monday, got motor running, fully stripped jimny interior, front diff gone. I still need to pick up my bundy diffs, transfer etc.
This Will be full purpose built race car.
Total weight to be around 1400kgs inc winch, etc.
IT HAS STARTED PEOPLE!
cheers all bru

Those thai cars must have made you sweat more than a red curry!
Nice work - I'm very keen to see this, as you can tell I get well over all the bootyfab so i'm stoked to see the build!

motor is generation 3 97 model gt4 celica 3sgte 260 hp standard. will be approx 260rwkw with new head studs and boost control etc. at 260hp its double the power to weight of the smurf.
cheers bru

With the suspension you're looking at running why not look at a 35?
This way you'll have the same diff clearance as the big guys as well (you on 35's with shaved diffs, them on 37's without shaved diffs)
You might end up winching more than you should be if you end up on 33's.
Well I'm guessing that they didn't think everyone would carry on like a big bunch of sooky girls over it like they have........
yeah true.
Just picked up the diffs, transfer, box etc. diffs a little heavier than I was expecting! hopefully still work out light overall.
I have the motor etc out tonight so i can see how much floor has to go. there will be no body lift etc so to make the chassis smooth underneath the transfer and box will have to move into the cab. a bit of ally sheet will do wonders
cheers bru
