basically i want to know if warn winch solenoids have thermal overloads as sometimes when winching in and i stop, and want to go in again all i get is a click. i wait a few minutes and it goes again. i have recently replaced the two "spool in" solenoids as one shit itself the other day. is it simply a case of overloads or have i got a biger problem? the winch is fairly old however ive cleaned it up recently. also could it be something in the other 2 solenoids, i didnt think it did as it will spool out no worries. any help would be appreciated.
also should i earth the winch back to the battery or is to the frame good enough?
cheers

Quick question on warn winch drama
Moderator: -Scott-
im running 12 volt. im thinking it could be a bad earth or something, ill have to check it out soon. from my interpretation of the wiring diaram, on two solenoids are uesd for foward and the other 2 for reverse, is this correct? so ive replaced the 2 forward ones and yeah sometime it wont sppol in but it will spool out. then after a while it will go in again so yeah its got me stuffed. ill just check all connections, and earth it to the battery and see how i go, then ill replace the other 2 solenoids. just a bit hesitant due to the price. i should have brought a titan solenoid. they sound like there the go.
