HID's Failing! Is it just me???

Post by Big Red Toy »

Well i'm have now had a few sets of hids
1st set were H4 hi / low beam, one of the globes went after about 6months
2nd set, H3 45w kit, one globe went after only one trip & now the other is playing up!!! :bad-words:

I run twin optima batteries & have a good alternator etc so always had good power to them & they never get submersed under water but the bloody things keep failing on me

Just wondering if other people have had similar issues???

This is not really useful tech but it is an observation-

We have had two cars with factory HID - Renault Clio Sport and a Mini Cooper S.

Both cars have had at least one HID lamp/unit fail.

Somtimes they just failed altogether, another kept restriking before it failed.

Ahhh, warranty :D

We tend to run the headlights from 1-3 hours per day as part of our commute.
