Hi, on friday i smashed my zook into the back of a mitsubishi mirage, smashed it and bent mine up pretty good.

Well the list of broken bits consists of:
Broken Engine Mount
Broken gearbox mount
Bent front spring
Broke body mount front L/H side
Panel damage
And finally i bent the chassis front crossmember, resulting in bent chassis.
Well what i want to know is what you guys think i should do with it? I'm leaning towards selling it as spares. If anyone wants it, its a 1 ltr 4 speed. Just PM me if you want it.
I'm located in Lue, NSW. Near Mudgee, 2850.
Thanks
Mitch

I can see the bumper supoprt bracket/front crossmember is bent but how bent is the rail?

I would say if the rail was fairly straight (doesn't have to be perfect, but pretty close) I would fix it. If the rail is significantly bent, part it out.

Shame, looked like a nice clean car.

I you really like your car (It looks like a well kept one), then buy another chassis, and swap most of your stuff over. You'd have to be handy with panel-beating. While your at it, you could do any of those trickier mods you may have wanted done. (may need new LHS front guard panel?).

This may take time, but you will get to know your car well, and to me it would be fun. Oh and you dont feel bad for killing your car, you feel good for doing life saving surgery.

sorry to hear mate. looked like a neat and straight little beast.
do the swap. will take you a weekend into another chassis. just get a mate or two to lend a hand. the hardest part is lifting the engine etc out. but one each side and one guiding at the front .
at least then you have some spare panels and glass :D

Thanks everyone for your imput, i think i'll keep it and just get a new front clip and bonnet. A mate down the road said he'd come have a look at the chassis, because he is a panel beater by trade. The chassis bent about 20mm backwards on the lefthand side. The chassis has bent because the previous owner had welded a sh*tty homemade looking bar onto the front crossmember, making it weak, and when we pulled it off it tore a hole on both sides of thefront crossmember, so we just got some 2-3mm plate and covered it up. In the pic below the red is where we plated it, and the yellow is where the bumber mount/body mount bar has broke at the chassis.
Thanks, also does anyone have a 1ltr front clip and a 1.3 bonnet for sale?

Nah, that'll clean up fine. I was worried that the whole rail was bent. That damage is easy to fix and not worth binning a clean car for.

Those front crossmembers are weak to begin with. I discovered recently mine had been bent on the LHS outrigger (previous owner), and where it had cracked they filled it up with weld (1/2 a tonne of the stuff). Its fixed now, I have 2 pieces of 40x10 steel rammed up the tube, and tacked at both ends; with those stupid outriggers trimmed. Probably overkill, but I'm satisfied with it.

Good to here you'll keep it. I get worried about the attrition rate on zukes sometimes, there always seems to be one getting parted or wrecking somewhere.

if you need extra strength in the front cross member tube you can sleeve it inside with some 40mm gal pipe.

I sleved mine and welded the ends. i drilled and bolted in 2 rated eyelets to use as front recovery points. works a treat.
