The new zook in the family

Ive always been a cruiser man---------CRAP.
I"ve had a Daihatsu Rocky for the last 10 years or so. Before that I had a 1 lt Sierra hardtop, and in a previous life I had an LJ50.
Now, I have gone and bought an LJ80 for the youngest daughter. Eldest daughter got a SWB petrol Rocky.
The 80 cost me $770 off ebay, with about another $300 transport costs to go get it. The good part is it has 4 brand new 30's on it. So I have my moneys worth there. Checking it over was interesting. It has had a 1 lt motor transplanted into it, and it has been regoed with ths motor, but no mod plate. There is an extra sump in with the deal, as I see the sump of the 1 lt fouls on the front diff of the 80. I did read somewhere here the sump can be reversed, with suitable mods to the oil pickup, to clear the diff. Is this correct?
Rust wise, the floor pans need attention, and the lower firewall also needs looking at. This doesnt really present a problem. I have already removed the front clip. And the whole body may come off the chassis for a clean up. I am contemplating LED combination lights for the rears, and possibly grafting Rocky front combination lights for the front end.
So, looks like another forum that I will be lurking in.
Any other LJ forums on the net people can point me in the direction of?

Cheers
Bundy

And so the job has stared. Pulled the front clip off the other day, and yesterday lifted the body up off the chassis. Much easier to get to repair the rust with the body off. What I can see needs work is both floor pans, sills, and lower firewall on either side. Rolling chassis has a huge (probably 30 year) buildup of sand/mud/grease/crap all over it. It will be hit with the high pressure blaster. Under the body will get the same treatment.
