mine (not sure size though) are in side panels behind seat. JAKE has his mounted up on roll cage where grab handles go (ie made some type of box).
dont have a digi myself but surely JAKE could post a pic of his

ha ha ha it took me ages to find a good spot for my 6x9 JBL speakers too
but with abit of lateral thinkin
i decided to remove the 2 jesus handles from the roll bar (behind the passenger and drivers head and bein a chippy knock up a fancy little boom box the simply fits in between either side of the roll bar and just fixed to the roll bar with 2 pieces of alloy angle and fitted it off to the original holes that the jesus handles used
i have a great pic somewhere i will look for it tomorrow

Someone has already butchered mine with oval shapes cut into the utility compartment in the back trim, I was thinking along similar lines to Jake.Above and behind the rear passengers head there is some mountings on the roll cage that look as though a compartment cage thing goes. All I got are some threaded holes but a guy at a stereo shop said he maytbe able to mount something. You can also get high quality speakers to fit inside the dash . Seen some 73 that had the rear trim panels replaced with aluminium and upholstered with 2-3 speakers on each side..

Strathfield sells wedge shaped boxes for 6x9's finished in grey carpet. You could hang those from the roll bar. If you mount the speakers low, then when you go on road trip (ie.when you want the music the most) you can't hear shiat from the 6x9's

Better to build a custom box and mount them somewhere other than in the panels. Not only will you save your interior (if that worries you) but you will get a better sound out of the right sized box.

NOTE: when mounting speakers so that they are facin down wards make sure they are secured to the speaker box or what ever you plan too mount it to cos it will give ya a bloody good shock and a bump onj ya head if it comes down from where you tried to "blu-tac" it

Personally.. id be replacing the OE 4" Speakers in your dash, and then putting the 6x9's in the back, youll get a better soundstage from the 4"s int he front, and then some rear DOOF fill from your 6x9's in some of those custom pods things they sell at JB for like $20. U could also get like a nice 10" Sub in a ported box to sit int he back aswell... and some kool neons, and little lights on your windscreen wiper sprayer things aswell... coloured parkers, bling crome, UV cab lamps, etc etc..

already replace the front speakers although im going to have replace them again as the right one is starting to crackle, and the 6x9's i got for nothing are only a couple of months old. i would out in a nice subbie and ampo but theres no space as i dont have back seat and to low might get wet. although im thinking of making a small drawer for in the back might incorperat the subbie into it hey.
