what are the advantages and/or disadvanatges of adding an extra leaf to the pack on the back of my hilux. apart from the little bit of extra height. will it make a stiffer ride?

yes.. it will stiffen the ride up, if you can put up with that

depends on the rig, the weight & the leaf I guess..

my brother in law added a 'ranch add a leaf' to his feroza, and it gained 2" I think..

sweet thanx dude, might go down that route. looks to be cheaper than having th leafs reset or buying new ones. btw its going on a 2000 hilux rear , no load carrying, just looking for a cheap way to lift it a bit more.

add a leaf = more height, stiffer ride, less flex

i got a green dual cab with xterrains.i believe that single cab with the pro comp kit and radial claws is no longer :(. i saw it the other day running round now with no lift and chesse cutter tyres.

im from belmont in brisbane.

i got a 2 inch body lift and front torsion bars wound up 1 1/2 inches. it no sits level, but i wanna get maybe another inch or 2 to fit in 33's.

i think he meant put lift blocks under the rear springs, you can get 50mm lift blocks and stick them under the spring packs

would add a leaf be the easiest way to get 1-2'' out the springs or would it be cheaper and/or easier to get the standard springs reset, or new springs.

spring blocks are legal, not sure if ya can go 50mm but they are legal. check with queensland trtansport, aslong as the material used is viable (strong etc not wood) and the ubolts are replaced with extended ubolts that comply with ADR's then your fine.
