been thinking about selling the paj lately and buying a sierra. Cheaper to throw around the bush, not so much worry about damage. Probably for about 18 months and then sell zuk to buy a GU UTe for touring. Anyone got ideas as to why not? or any other thoughts? Only because i hate to damage the paj, because everytime i do i see cha ching! Not sure how to go about it though....Make it back to stock, and sell, or sell as is. ITs not so modified, so i dunno,

I know what you are saying and I have done it far too many times to count. At the end of the day I always seem to build another paj! Cost and comfort wise you are far better keeping the paj. Says I who just bought another spook....The idea is great until you have to drive any distance in a spook.

Pajeros of your vintage are pretty cheap now days, so at the end of the day if yours looks like poo from lots of dints, go out and buy another one and swap everything over.

Its a 'sport' that costs coin, the further and harder you go the more its going to cost. Same principle for street cars, how deeps your pocket determines how fast your car is.

Keep what you have, use it for however long and downgrade to the GU Ute

I expect a Zook would be a cheaper commuter car, and less of a worry in the bush. Financially, the zook would probably be better for you, unless you get bitten by the bug again.

For touring, your Paj will get you anywhere you want to go - any of the "hard" tracks in the guide books would be barely challenging for you. If you want something larger for extra space, by all means change up - but don't believe you need a solid front for your big trip. A well kitted Gen 3 will still meet your touring needs.

To sell your Paj, start by advertising as is, for the price you want. If you can't sell it, look at what you might be able to get after stripping back to stock - don't forget you'll need to pay for "stock" components, and pour some time into the conversion. Is it really financially worth it?

And don't forget to set some money aside for your skirt...

Get used to bouncing up and down with the leaf suspension (Unless it's a coily), my brother has one, and admitantly it goes anywhere, but there's no way i'd be buying a vehicle without coils Zooks and Lux's really jiggle your man boobs. Stick with the Paj, it has served you well.

yeh see i dunno, in a dream world i would have all three. The thing is there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Pajero. At 240,000kms its as strong as its ever been, not a problem in sight, iv changed half of the car in parts, its pretty strong and quite capable. And that brings me to the problem....Theres nothing wrong with it. I would rather there be something wrong with it then it wouldnt be so hard to think about selling it. But for the moment, in the money i would lose on it, keeping it seems the sensible option. Running costs are almost nil at the moment and up until about the end of the year becuase i ride my pushbike to work, 400m, i moved out with my girlfriend. Money isnt tight either, theres no reason to sell it, but still theres something there that makes me want to.

I think because it is either sell it, or make it better....and this is the problem im at. I sold the rear ARB locker i had, so im thinking putting the moneys toward a front ARB. I lost no money on the locker so that was good. But if i keep the paj, its 15x8 patrol offset rims, 33" MTZs i think, and transfer gears and keep it that way cos i should be happy, as well as the front ARB. When i look at it though, that is about the moneys i would lose by selling it, so am i really losing by not seeling it and spending the moneys on the paj. And do i go 35" tyres??? have thought about it for a while, even if it was a small 35", i liked the size of the JT2s i had, crawling was shit but, hence tranny gears.

Who knows, but see if i build it, ill have to keep it, and then in the future, DID engine and SAS front

ps - i want a set of the BF Krawlers, but they only come in 35" smallest, thats why im thinking 35"s, otherwsie tyres of choice would be yeh MTZ, or perhaps Trepador if it ever comes in a good size.
