Looks like i have snaped a cv f/r maxis 35's 5.11 gears .When the maxis were put in i thought the upgrade would include cv as well .
So what would be the best way to go to replace these without replacing anything else ,
Regards Stu..

if you have a rangie i don't think the cv's would have been upgraded, as these are considered to be ok.
do you mean 4.11 not 5.11?
cheers, serg

It would probably help if you told us what model.
There are quality low cost options for the newer (1994+ axles) and more expensive ones for the earlier style.

Diffs are out of a 76
maxi drives were put in late last year .Long story but company that installed went out of business mid way through the bulid up thats why im still working out what was done to car . Im thinking that front locker is not disenganging properly and this may be giveing me the impression of a cv prob. Im sure they said 5.11 gears were put in but im no longer sure .
It gets of the line well with 35's all advice would help

Do the front drive flanges have a large hexagon nut, or do they have a smooth, rounded cast appearance.
Maxi-drive make a kit for the stronger 23 spline county cv's - these have a hex nut in the drive flages.
The original cv's for that year model are 10 spline and have a separate stub shaft with integral drive flange.
Both of these cv's are about same strength, but the 23 spline county ones have stronger axles and stub shafts than the 10 splines.
I think there is a sticky thread comparing axles and cv's near the top of the rover forum.
After market 4340/300M cv's from Longfield or Ashcroft are considerably stronger than any stock rover cv (101 FC excluded).
