I run EFS extream oil shocks a bit more in $$$$ than Procomp but they wont let you down.
Stay away from a gas shock unless u like ashphalt more than dirt and rocks,,, but hey also adjustable shocks have there advantage but ur call?

OK EFS OIL 45mm Bore Comp Spec Shocks are a great shock if you go off road a lot and want some thing that feels good and holds up RRP $245.00 from most approved retailers.
For a basic EFS gas shock (Elite series) your paying about $120.00 each now i find these are ok however if you do a bit of the hard core stuff then there proberly not the best option, the basic procomp shock are around $140.00 give or take! these are used a lot and as a all rounder are good.
I suggest u give the boys at Superior Engineering a call they know a lot, and stock almost every shock there is they have a lot of suppliers so the prices are good and they dont just beleive in one shock, when i used them they took the time to listen to my needs and answered all questions before i agreed to purchase though them there number is 07 3889-6778 or
www.superiorengineering.com.au for a on line look at what they have.
Good Luck mate.. (remember this is just my opinon and dont take my advice its important to look and investigate all options before you make a choice) - Keep The Shinny Side Up

I have never used ridepro or edelbrock shocks so i wont make judgment, however i have used ToughDog and there over priced in a big way for what they are, some people may not agree and every one has there own judgment i respect that, so i hope all this helps

i looked into them. they look ok but they are just a shock with special valving which is good but worth what they are in usa not 300 odd each. for those dollars you can get fox 2", rebuild yourself, and sell for good dollars when you are tired of them. yes fox can get hotter as they work in rebound, but imo they should be working in rebound.

EFS are solid and I have always liked how well they seem to handle abuse but I really don't like there onroad valving.
Procomps are ok for a very budget shock imo.
Not the best for big heavy trucks
Tough dog are ok as long as ya seals hold up!!!!

I actually like the ride a tough dog gives a patrol but I am not impressed with what seems like cost cutting procedures used in manufacture.
I have edelbrocks on my GU and love em. I am not convinced they would be perfect for hard/serious offroad abuse but for general offroad and road use and especially corrigations they are great.
they give a very firm controlled ride on road and control body roll well but if ya hit a big hole hard they just soak it up beautifully. BTW off the shelf type edelbrocks I think are roughly 265 ea. You can get the long travel remote resivour ones for more though. Or if custom valving is required this cost extra. BUT at least it is an option not like most off the shelf shocks sold to a length not an application.
There is a lot of things you have to take into consideration when buying ya shocks though and I just can't type enough to put it all down here.
If you like you could ring me at work and we can chat but everything written so far seems like good points.
Cheers
Brian
