bump stop extension

hey guys, after some info and photos on bump stop extensions.
how did you guys do it, what did you use, was it easy? any info would be good.

There is an easy way, which is bolting a piece of 50mm RHS through the existing holes and bolting your bumpstop to the extension.
On the rear, weld a bit of 50mm RHS onto the existing pad.
This is the hard way:
This pulls the bumpstop under the chassis which works the spring harder as the pivot point is inboard of the spring. The end result is lots of articulation with very limited compression travel. The springs get some funky twist in them but quality leaves seem to live quite well, although we don't run much lift.

still looking into ways on the rear of the sierra but i have done the same on mine. but used 20-25mm box section on the front.

What size tyre are you running to need spacers in the rear? I had 31 under mine without a BL and the rear never rubbed. front did. Just attack the inner guards with a BFH and flatten out the seams. Dropping the bumpstops just reduce suspension travel.

31s (measure 30.8) scrub under mine and on the fenders. i am going to do a 20mm or so extension.
also allows for forced articlation as well i believe.

31's and I'm using the bumpstops to save my shocks from bottoming out

thanks for the pics, im only going to run 29's to start of with but i will be using them for forced articulation
