Rears up front and SAS help

Post by Barney7779 »

I have read almost every thread on doing rears up front to get info for doing a SAS on my 99 hilux but still need more info

Will the rears from a gen 1 hilux work or am i better off getting a set from a gen 2 or can i use a set if IFS rears

I will be doing a 2" dropped x-member but cant decide on wether to mount the shackles through the chassie and use banna shackles or use the standard shackle and mount it under the chassie

How much lift will i get from putting the shackle under the rail as opposed to putting it through the rail

i think thats all for now

Cheers

For lift wherever you put the rear mount either through the chassis or on the under side of it it'll give you half that distance in lift height with the drop hanger it'll also add to the lift. Say 2in drop hanger and shackle mount is 2in lower than where it'd mount standard it'll give 2in of lift. For springs just run what you have if you don't like them or the sagg like all shit run something different. Is it 3.0l or the 2.7 or v6 :?:

It's the 3.0d and will have tube front and which

was thinking of using the 2 mains from the standard rear pack and then top it up with leaves from a IFS set

How much extra lift you get from running the shackle hanger under the chassis also depends on how long shackles you plan on running

Plan on running standard shackles if i go under the rail and extended if i go through the rail

Then it will be roughly half of what you drop the rear eyelet of the spring by.
