I have a 1uz on the floor in the garage waiting to go in my LR. But.... theres a lot of stuff that it looks like it doesnt need?

So.... what stuff can I take off without the computer throwing a spasm. I am running the standard computer. The motor is out of an ls400 and has traction control (which I assume I can get rid of)?

Basically all I want is;
the motor to run well
power steer pump
alternator
AC pump (for air compressor)

You can delete the idol up valve on the power steering pump. Then you need to just block the 2 vacum lines that run/ran to it off.

If you're smart you can remove the loom that runs down the passengers side and run all them wires under the intake and back down to the ac via the front of the motor.

Post a pic of from each side and the front and rear and I'll soon tell you what you can and can't remove or how to tidy it up some what.

the white circ is that battery cable or AFM plug? Bit hard to tell but if its the AFM depending where that ends up you can run it threw under the intake, then come out at the front and straight down to the AFM. The AFM itself you turn upside down so you can't see the wires as easy.
Red is the power steering valve, just delete it now and get the hole filled in, you'll only end up breaking the thing off anyway and end up with fluid all over the bloody place :bad-words:
Yellow is an air box that some same give extra HP, I think its a load of crap and took mine off as it looks crap. Plus induction noise is cool :D
Pink is the only thing on the motor to do with traction controll and its not removeable, but it doesn't get wired up anyway. I left the wires and pplug there as it looks neater then without.

The vavle in the green can be undone from the motor and just throw it in under the covers, gets it out of sight. Its only to do with pollution and the carcol canistor which is the pipe in the blue I think. Bit hard to tell.

Most of the stuff hanging off your motor is pipes that will be changed as you reconnect them to the new rig the motor will live in.

Alot of the small pipes around the top of the motor can be rerun in hose (instead of solid pipe) and hiden under covers.

In the end you end up going from this

To this :D (sorry only phone camera) This is with none of the covers on as I'm lazy and haven't botheres putting them back on

Oh and try and get a crown fan setup as they ran a clutch fan and not the hydro one, they are also simplar and look way neater.
Crown also run a remote oil filter from factory which can be easily made fully remote if needed.

Thats my hilux engine bay.

You can get some plates etc from lextreme that then allows you to remove all the polution gear off the motor. But then of cause its not going to be legal.
