GQ diff and gearbox compare to 9" and strong box's..

Post by Mulisha »

quick question..

How much can the 5 speed manual GQ gearbox's take before they break when putting decent hp through them and the same with the diffs?

Are they bullet proof?

cheers

Rick.

i got a couple of mates with 2-300 horspower and they thrash the absolute shite of em and they go alright, these are comp trucks so they cop a hiding, in saying that they have upgraded to GU diffs too but i think that was more a CV/width thing too.

Turbo 4.8 (Shreq Racing) had a turbo tb42. He use to brake input shafts on the gearbox. But I think that was max revs in 3 gear and side stepping the clutch was the main cause. So it was abused. I believe the clutch never slipped though.
Think it had somewhere around 240rwkw's dont know how much torque it had.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
