Hi there all, just chasing some resent opinions from people regarding these two types of tyres.
I have asked around but only one person has run swampers that i spoke to.
Im looking at 36x12.5x16, on an 80series cruiser.
Cheeers, Any advise appreciated.

performance wise you wont really notice much difference, the swamper is a bit harder and really needs to be grooved for them to work at their best.
1 thing with simex is that if you damage one its just a quick trip to a tyre store to get one. if you damage a swamper chances are you will need to wait for a replacement.

Simex work WAY!!!!!!!!! better in mud. But they sux on rocks
Swampers work WAY!!!!!!!!!! better on rock or dry gravel, they really only start to work below 12psi.
If most of your driving is mud or thats what you like driving then go simex. If most of your driving is rock or dry hill work then go swampers.
I think swampers are better for all round 4x4ing work as they still work great in mud, just not as good as simex. Simex are better on the road (not said as bagging or in anyway bagging them) swampers sux big time on the road.
Simexs also handle better at speed hence why most winch challenge rigs run them.
Swampers have WAY!!!!! more sizes to choice from.

If you live in Pakenham, you need a mud tyre.........
No contest....Simex all the way.

Yeah, what Guts said. As an all rounder you can't go past swampers. Simex's have an edge in mud, Swampers kick arse on everything else.

I waited nearly 4 months to get a replacement 35x10.5x15 Et.
36s may be easier these days to get. I rang everywhere. including interstate.

Pretty much what Guts said, except that from what I have heard, 'pedes are way noisier on tarmac than swampers.
Due to their squarer shoulder and stiffer design, 'pede's might actually handle better, but I have heard plenty of people bagging them for noise on road, and seriously, I don't reckon swampers are that bad. I have run 9/32's (noisiest by far) 9/34;s, Q78's and 36 12.5 SX Swampers on hiluxes, my Gwagen and Sierras.
I have never heard anyone bag a swamper for off road performance in 16 years of owning swampers. simexes are a mixed bag. They are very impressive in slick mud. In deep mud I would call it even. In all other situations, I would vote swamper.
