Guys,
I test drove a diesel gq today and the gearstick seamed to move side to side even though it was in gear?
What do you think the problem is?
Regards

There's a little plastic bush which snaps onto the ball at the end of the stick. It may have been missing this bush. Don't know for sure, just hazarding a guess.

I have not got the part no. But its not expencive and its easy to fit so dont stress about it.BUT for that bush to be stuffed that car has done a fair bit of work so dont get ripped off when buying it

It could be there but not 'snapped' into end of gear lever. Gearstick may have been removed to replace a clutch or something and not put back together quite right. the bush in question would cost no more than $10.

If it's broken i'd say it was just a faulty part. How can hard driving fcuk something that just works as a pivot point on the end of a gearstick. Must've been one cnt of a driver if it was
This is assuming of course that this is the problem. It was just my first thought to check this bush.

GQ Bear, I'm not sure GM meant it's necessarily been driven overly hard, just a LOT of movement (gear changes) will eventually wear out any moving part.

not sure, but if similar to the cruiser boxs they have the plastic cup on the end of the shifter and a bush that the pivot sits on in the top case
