Anyone ever destroyed 4.8s in their GQ/GU?
If so what size rubber were u running and what engine was pushing it.
Im just wondering weather to stick with standard gears or 4.8s.
Thoughts.....

Cheers

Thinking about it... If they can last under a nissan i think a lux would have a hell of a time trying to break one.

dont know for sure but h260 have long small pinion but bigger axles n crown wheels, these gears were all broken in comp trucks, ASCC, XWC, XRCC, ect

most problems are the front crown wheels mine looked like the teeth were being ripped from the flange the teeth had cracks along the root of the tooth

Thanks guys.

Yeah its for a lux, i want to use GUs FnR just for the little big extra strength in the front.
Im putting the rear in first and gettin it all sorted before i start the front, so i want a ratio that lux and patrol have in common. Cant use 4.3s cos they are slightly different - 4.300 and 4.375. Dont want 4.1s
I have 4.88s for a lux already.
I may just try n keep genuine nissan 4.3s or 4.6s for the extra strength cant use 4wd for a while that'll be all

Running a 4.3 and a 4.375, will make 2/10's of fark all difference

i wouldnt worry about it if it was in mud or something but i prefer rockcrawling, might bind it up too much, something will have to break!
