Converting RR from Man to Auto ..

I'm trying to find an Auto RR on a tight budget (<$5k). I'm finding a few manuals that would suit, but not many Autos ...
How hard is it to convert a RR from manual to auto?
The reason I'm chasing an auto is that my wife has an auto licence only (I have manual though). Of course, I can always teach her to drive a manual but just in case it would be nice to know how easy / $$$ it is to do ...

It's very easy to convert from Manual to auto all you need is a good auto gbox, adaptor plats for fly wheel, oil cooler lines and gbox mounts (x1).
The only hard bit from memory was trying to get the old clutch pedale out... but it beat us so we cable tied it out the way... now it a 2nd foot rest!!
Who ever you but the auto from try and get all the bits you need ie Auto brake pedal, oil cooler lines, mounts and adapter plates

The auto conversion is the best way to go. Much more user friendly around the city and good off-road as well, apart from the downhill stuff (you learn how to deal with that after a while).
Like Mickrangie mentioned, it's paramount you get all the right bits in one go as bits missing soon add up to the cost of the conversion.

Yeah, I find autos aren't too bad anyway. My current ride is an auto V6 Freelander, and its reasonable offroad (its only the downhill stuff that's a bit hairy, and when the HDC is too fast for steeply rutted stuff).
I might just keep looking for an auto though; as the cost to buy a manual and then convert to auto is probably more $$$ than just waiting for the right auto to come along ...
