Just after some info about the strength/reliability of the divorced transfer cases found in some MQ patrol's and the 720 utes, ?pathfinder.

I know that people have had v8's etc. run through these before, do they hold up?

Just looking for alternatives to allow for a drive train upgrade in an old landy. My intention is to fit v6 and auto from vp commodore and possibly use one of these transfer's.

All opinions appreciated.
Dave.

I have seen a bloke running a divorced 720 transfer with a TH400 and a fully worked 454 BB.
He said he had tried a few different transfers and nothing holds up better than the 720.
That was in a off road racer.

Thanks for that, its the sort of info i want to hear :)

Does anyone know if the remote transfers are the same between 720 and patrol? if so it makes finding one a bit easier.
