Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hey just got the feroza and shes not the quickest or torquest car out there. and when we go camping iam runny outa scace so iam thinking of tgetin a 6x4 foot traier will the lilttel roza handel it? also can anyone tell me what they tow and how long for?

I used to tow 2 dirtbikes all over the place when I was in Sydney. Trailer is 190kg + 130kg for my Kawasaki + about 150kg for the Suzuki.

A lot of our trips were up to the Blue Mountains and over the Divide. You will notice a difference when towing, but you find the Feroza will still chug along ok with a bit of extra weight on the trailer. I was running 30x9.5's back then. Haven't towed any decent weight with the 31's yet.

If you have a simple hitch onto the central rear recovery plate, then be
carefull if the tongue is substantially below the mounting point.

It is not uncommon for the hitch to actually twist the rear tubular cross
member. This does not happen with more adequately designed tobars,
but just be aware......

they are rated to tow about 1100kg, i tow my 16ft haines from brisbane to goldy or to the bay regulary, I also have a 8x5 box trailer that gets used for rubbish runs and to kart camping gear for the family outings also.

I have also towed a windup camper trailer, the feroza will pull it but it also feels it. I am running 31" muddies and my car mechanicly is the biggest POS ever.

shouldn't have any dramas, I only have the standard towbar and that is fairly bent from 4wding.

i towed the old man 16ft boat (loaded full of shite) from bundaberg qld. to esperance wa. no probs, sat on 100-110 most of the way.. (apart from the hills that is), i would like to see how it tows the same boat again since i've had the turbo on, but the ol man and his boat are up in port hedland!



would love to tow my car trailer and car with the feroza, but at 1700kg it's over the limit.


it doesnt really feel my 6x4 with a decent load.

I think that it depends entirly on the model that you have as mine is a '90 model and its although i can tow things its note all that great at it given choice i use rolla or Tojo BUT i have had about 2 tonnes of sand in the trailer and come down the Gillies which is a tight and winding range.20km over 300 bends one straight peice of 50mtres. I don't given the choice use it but i have the older model and its not all that powerfull. But i am running a set of 33 mickey T's.

well there's your problem!

Even with the old MTR's that where on it it didn't tow all that well.

i picked up my new project today, couldnt get hold of my uncle to use his cruiser so the roza towed it prity well on the 10k journey from where it was to were it is now..


it knew it was there for sure, but bring in a little more boost and it pulled well.

all i need now is to save for the block and shed i need to repair it.

The smallest MTR's are 235/75R15 from memory which are way too big as well- by around 35mm diameter.

Mine has done quite a good job towing when I've had it loaded IMHO. No problems sitting on the limit and large hills aren't too bad provided you change down before hand. That's with 235/70 tyres and extractors/ larger exhaust.

The only thing that scares me when towing is the brakes, I wouldn't like to have to pull up in a hurry!

hell yeah!! thats what i said to my nanna who was with me when we towed the boat today.
good thing i was taking it slow and cautiously.

Towing capacity is basically determined on braking ability as that is what is hindered the most with a large load behind you.

The Rocky brakes well when towing... the brochures state a 3500kg towing capacity, I'd like to see it pull that! It'd be a slow ol trip

i personally wouldnt be towing anything thats more than the weight of the vehicle

I've towed a 6.5m fibreglass boat with the Feroza... pulled fine and actually braked ok too. Just had to make sure I kept plenty of distance from the vehicle in front just in case.

Pulling a 7x5 Box trailer with 400kg of dirt bikes and gear didn't seem to affect braking performance too badly.

whats a feroza weigh? bout 1500kg?

Manual says GVM for F300 (narrow track) is 1650kg and F310 (wide track) is 1750kg.
So it would be less when unladen.
