MInd you i do use a cheap fuel additive.
Those that have seen are believers as well, so dont call BS
How does that work?
my MQ with the SD33 gets 10.5L/100km, included highway and town work at about 45% each and offroad for 10% when i worked that out. uses 12.3L/100km when towing 2tonne...

Old boy has a Turbo 4 cylinder 3.something litre mazda diesel in his rangie. It is around the 8lt/100kms mark

Over 30km's per litre. Thats F**KING impressive.pongo wrote:my turbo diesel 85 patrol gets about 800km with about 20-25 litres of unleaded.

And all on unleaded,
I am assuming you mean you are adding 20 to 25 litres of unleaded to a tank of diesel. I am also assuking that the standard tank holds about 90 litres, So ecomony would be around 10 lt/100km. Around what I would expect a unmod'ed diesel 4by to return
However it is a datsun, so so it most likely did 750 of those km's were being towed by a cruiser.
My Cruiser is Environmentally Friendly.
It runs on recycled Dinosaurs.

Haha that's funny.steven101 wrote:Arnt Jeep wranglers meant to be about 10 litre/100 km?
I get about 13-15 L/100klm depending on if it's hwy/city. I get identical fuel economy to Suzuki Jimny's on the beach at high tide in really soft sand because the wrangler just cruises along barely above idle whereas the Jimny's are revving their tits off to keep up.
yeah I agree but I've only owned a Sierra 4x4 ute so it is the most economical 4x4 ute that I know4130warrior wrote:Dont believe the hype that a 1.3L zook is that cheap to run. Because it's gutless under about 3500rpm I spend most of my time fanging around high in the rev range and it returns around 13-14l/100km.
Ransom note = demand + collage
It would depend on the individual vehicle. If its too high gearing (big wheels no gearing) then its gonna guzzle and be terribly gutless. Standard will do quite good. It also depends on the load in the car too; though mine manages 9km/L with 3 people in it, towing 6x4 trailer up the beach (mines a SWB not a ute though).4130warrior wrote:Dont believe the hype that a 1.3L zook is that cheap to run. A zook with a fuel injected transplant should do better than a stocker. WRT to other ute options other than a Suzuki, if you want economy I think diesel is the go, which make? I think there could be little in it, economy wise.
Still harping on earlier comments, Hogga, give us more info! You want an efficient 4x4 ute, that all we know. For all we know you want a hot pink Daihatsu Rocky ute (apologies to Daihatsu owners), with a roof chop, on 3" lowering blocks, low profile tyres, and a amplifier big enough to power a concert hall...
Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.

I got 750klms out of 60ltr tank, 60ltr on the guage 10ltr spare as the book says 70ltr tank.
To help work it out quickly:
http://www.dropbears.com/u/utilities/fu ... iency.html
Distance Travelled in Kilometers - 750klms
Number of Litres Used - 60ltr tank
Result in Kilometers per litre - 12.5
Result in miles per gallon - 35.326
Result in litres per 100 kilometers - 8
I think that's pretty good, $20 = 300klms
bike was 300klm for a full tank of PULP
if your really wanting something cheap to run get a scooter, they use next to no fuel, $10 full tank = 2 weeks of running around.
they are cheap to run and currently only need car lic to ride in QLD as long as it's only 50cc.
