Hilux air con, stripped bolt

gday guys, was undoing the air con on the old diesel luxto get the extractors off and the four long skinny bolts that hold the ac onto the mount bracket all came out bar 1 the last one and the head has stripped. its in a ok spot to get at but i just really dont no how to get it out. any ideas, i tried heating it up but realised i cant get the socket on it anyway and tried the socket next size down but wont fit... stuck!... cheers any help apreciated

do you have a small pair of stillsons. try them on the head of the bold.

other wise cut the head off the bolt, slide the compressor off then use whatever you got to grip and turn the shank of the bolt. (if you have room to do this)

Try banging a imperial socket on , they are slightly smaller , Cheers Paul.

yeh but its in a bad spot for stilsens unfortunately. i havnt tried the imp socket yet but i will give it a go. thanks guys

Metwrench, they are a special spanner, not sure if sockets are available, but they grip almost any rounded head and undo it. Or gatorgrip, a socket filled with like needle rollers, push it on the head and the needles push in around the head. i have seen the gatorgrips at bp roadhouses, metwrench stuff not sure where to get, tool shop, total tools, bursons

If you can get to it OK weld a non damaged nut to the old one, then undo them both together.
