4.875 diffs, 34" tires, stock tcase just wouldnt cut it. instead of buying el expensivo crawler gears i decided to to an el cheapo dual tcase fabbing...

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

after week of being lazy, i finally got it under the junk....

Image

Image

Image

Image

the crossmember and the additional tcase support

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

and got new slip yokes to fit...

Image

april 21, 2007, finally got it out again to do some poser shots....

Image

Image

Image

ran to the nearest muffler shop so i could hit the nearest hole before it gets dark...

...got the muffler done, and off to the hole...

Image

Image

Image

Image

and raced it the next day

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

and finished 16th out of the grid of 26, nor bad for a shakedown against huge land cruiser :)

Both builds are very impressive in both the fab work & detail as well as the rate of speed you're doing it all in. ;)
The tooling and precision for a 'back yard project' is admirable!
Definatley following both zook and buggy builds for some inspiration...

Wish I could fab/build even half as good as that  :D

ditched my patrol diff swap...used a daa 44 instead (4.875:1)

here are images of the slow progress...

it looks like im going to move the front diff a little bit forward to clear the oilpan and be able to create enough room to lower my rig 4 inches

it will be running on 38" inch swampers...still hoping to hit the trail by early september :)

thanks
